This English sugar scuttle is a hard to find item and this one is in almost new condition. I think that originally there could have been a shovel in the hook or handle at the back, but if there was, it is no longer included. Item has a delicate scroll pattern and the handles are like a tree branch with raised leaves.
No Age patina but light scuff mark where the bowl rolls into the stand, as you would expect.
Stamped twice: Celtic Quality Plate Made in England and Silver Plate on copper.
Stands 6 inches high. One only... $15.00
Can you post a photo of the sugar scoop. I'm interested in this item.

ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL... lovely piece of silver. Thanks for sharing, Happy Silver Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI have two American ones -- but the English one has a delicacy that the American ones lack.

Until Silver Sunday, I had never seen a sugar scuttle. I am intrigued and now want to find one for me. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sugar scuttle, Lucy! I just won one on e-Bay and does have the little shovel/scoop...it is an inexpensive Japanese made one. I recently saw someone use it as a candy server and that is the main reason I bid on it!
ReplyDeleteAnother comment for you, thanks for stopping by my post. If you liked the silver grapes, wait till you see my silver bananas. My friend Darcy had too much fun putting together this silver fruit bowl for me.
